The Floating Island in Seoul
THE FLOATING ISLAND - SEOUL The huge artificial islands in the middle of the Hangang(River) will be opened to the public in September, 2011. They consist of three different islands near the southern end of the Banpo Bridge. Being a cornerstone in Seoul’s Hangang Renaissance Project aiming to enhance riverside recreation areas and natural ecology, the floating island will be the representative landmark in the city.
