2014 Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival
2014 Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival
My No.1 Poster: Made by 192 Global Seoul-Mates
Hello,
Second mission from Global Seoul-Mates. I made a poster related to the Seoul Kimchi Making and Sharing Festival 2014. The photo that I used originally taken from english.seoul.go.kr. The reason I used that photo because it represents the main activity about the Festival and it shows that a lot of people joined as the participants of Kimchi Sharing and Making Festival. I think people will be able to understand about the Festival. After that, they will see the location, date and time clearly because it shows right after the photo.
Cheers.
Faramitha

Kimjang is a traditional Korean event where kimchi is made and shared. Listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, it is a unique part of Korean food culture.
Kimjang is the process of preparing and preserving large amounts of kimchi to last through the winter. Kimchi is a spicy vegetable dish made with unique Korean seasonings and seafood and preserved in a unique way. According to historical records, Koreans were eating kimchi as far back as 760 years ago. Transcending class and regional differences, kimchi is a staple of almost all Korean meals. A bowl of rice and kimchi is all that is needed to make a simple meal. However, kimchi is a dish that is always present, even at the most luxurious banquets.
To spread kimjang culture across the world and share its enjoyment with others, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will be holding the Seoul Kimchi Making and Sharing Festival for three days, from November 14 (Fri) to 16 (Sun), at Seoul Plaza, Gwanghwamun Square, as well as at other venues in Seoul.
Come and enjoy a large-scale kimchi making event, exhibitions, and other interesting programs!
